We’re switching to paper bags for horse feed!
This means fresher feed and it's better for the environment.
First up in paper bags is our Fifty Fifty feed.
In 2019 we conducted extensive testing of paper bags for our feeds.
The result – the feed in paper bags stayed fresher for longer than the same feed in polypropylene (plastic) and the bags themselves were no less water-proof than woven polypropylene bags that are widely used.
WHY WE’RE MAKING THE CHANGE
We’re concerned about micro plastics in the environment and in our food so we’re switching to paper bags, as we use up our current stock of plastic bags.
So we'll be phasing out the polypropylene bags, widely used by NZ feed companies, that contribute to micro plastic pollution
Plus, our new paper bags are recyclable.
